The Dallas Cowboys are looking to improve this season with an infusion of young players, after a disappointing wild card loss concluded a strong 12-5 season.

The Cowboys had high turner over this offseason with the departure of star and key players on both sides of the ball. The Cowboys traded star wide receiver Amari Cooper and lost free agent slot receiver Cedric Wilson, offensive linemen La’el Collins and Conner Williams, and defensive end Randy Gregory.

The Cowboys front office looked at the draft to fill these departures. Tyler Smith the Cowboys first round pick was brought in to replace Williams on an offensive that already had questions after being overwhelmed by the San Francisco 49ers’ pass rush last January.

A game in which Dallas failed to record a a single sack, lost Randy Gregory to the Denver Broncos leading the Cowboys to draft Sam Williams in the second round to bolster a pass rush with the foundation of Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence.

However, Dallas’ receiver corps is in need of more reinforcements with the aforementioned losses of Cooper and Wilson, and Michael Gallup recovering from an ACL tear from last season. The Cowboys is counting on rookie Jalen Tolbert and second year man Simi Fehokoto pair with the now number one receiver for the Cowboys Ceedee Lamb.

The Cowboys also sign USFL MVP Kavontae Turpin this offseason. Turpin already looks like an explosive threat in the preseason scoring a touchdown on both a kick and punt return against Los Angeles Chargers. Turpin might be a useful gadget player in the Cowboys offensive scheme.
