St. Louis in-particular has a robust farm system to offer in exchange for Stanton. However, Stanton’s contract is a significant hurdle for the Cardinals.
Major League Baseball wants to reduce team payroll by $25 million next season to $95 million. Stanton will make $25 million next year.
The 2017 NL MVP could bolster a team with enough talent to a world series which is why teams are offering their farm systems for Stanton.
Stanton in the event of trade would have to waive the no-trade clause within the 13-year, $325 Million contract signed last summer.
