The Dallas Cowboys improved this off-season with two big trades for playmakers and several vital moves. Will this be enough for the Cowboys to end their championship drought?

Another 12-5 season where the Dallas Cowboys looked like title contenders and one of the better teams in the NFC ended just like last season with a playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cowboys front office looked to shore up the team’s poor run defense selecting four defensive players in the early rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Cowboys fired former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as Head Coach Mike McCarthy has step into the play caller role, and Brian Schottenheimer as the new offensive coordinator.

Coveted Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn decided to remain in Dallas even with many head coaching offers to choose from.

All of that aside, the Dallas Cowboys have one of their most talented teams since the 1990s. If they were any other NFL except for the Dallas Cowboys they would be favored to win a super bowl.

However, the Modern Dallas Cowboys have become synonymous with mediocrity. The Cowboys have an on-going playoff record of appearing in the playoffs but never advancing to the conference championship game.

In fact, the last two season were the first time in 15 years the Cowboys made back-to-back playoff appearances. Many place the blame of the Dallas Cowboys recent playoff failure to starting Quarterback Dak Prescott, who struggle against the 49ers defenses’.

While the Cowboys have yet to reach a championship in during Prescott’s tenure, the drought started long before Prescott’s presence in Frisco.

Dallas’ fall from grace started in late 1990’s, as Jimmy Johnson’s players became to twiddle in Dallas. So, to did the Cowboys’ winning ways.

The Romo Era brought back some winning ways and many thought it was the end of the drought, but it was just more dark clouds and no rain.

Now, Prescott and McCarthy are under pressure to take this Cowboys team to the Super Bowl.
