The month before the NBA’s season began a lengthy suspension, the league’s defending champion Toronto Raptors blazed a 15-game win streak to little media buzz.

Jordan’s Bulls, Curry’s Warriors, and Lebron’s Miami Heat carried heavy media coverage on their multi-year championship runs. The Raptors struggled to gain similar popularity with the national media. By all accounts, the Raptors are having an outstanding season even compared to past defending champions.

The Raptors are the 32nd team in NBA history to win 15 or more games consecutively in one season. Only four of those teams were defending champions, including the Raptors.

Even with the loss of Kawhi Leonard, Toronto has the best defense in the NBA. The Raptors are second in the eastern conference behind the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, many believe once the playoffs begin, Toronto will miss Leonard. Many teams struggle without a superstar in the NBA. The season has the most talent the league has ever seen.

Giannis Antetokoumpo led Milwaukee Bucks had an 18-game winning streak this season, the team with the best record the in East. The Lakers duo was dominating out west of Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

When the NBA season resumes, the Raptors are defending their title and contending for another uncanny championship.
