Going from a franchise quarterback to one-year rental on a team desperate for a quarterback, a plot of many black QB’s.

Cam Newton’s career fits the story of a Hall of Fame quarterback, Newton being a number one overall pick, becoming the Most Valuable Player of the National Football League, he lead his team to the Superbowl while leading the league in touchdowns.

Cam Newton has a better career than most players in NFL history. His one year contract with the New England Patriots and being released by the Carolina Panthers in a quarterback desperate league emphasizes how hard it is to play the position as a person of color.

The last two seasons Newton’s had injuries, last years lead to Newton missing most of the season. However, every franchise quarterback has missed games due to injury. Aaron Rodgers has multiple seasons he missed games due to injury. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady haave full seasons missed on their resumes.

Russell Wilson suffered a broken jaw in 2017 and played despite a massive. Last season, Dak Prescott played with an injury to his throwing shoulder, several media outlets criticized him for playing in that game, he was not considered a warrior similar to other players who do play during an injury.

Black QBs have a small margin for error, you’re at the top of your game, or you’re dead weight.

Cam Newton is the best example; he was scheduled to earn $19 million from the Pathers before his release. He signed with the Patriots for only 7.9 million dollars contract.
