The St. Louis Cardinals trade Dexter Fowler for nothing, looking to their young outfields to deliver.

Outfielders Harrison Bader and Tyler O’Neill are both returning from a disappointing 2020 season. Bader, a dynamic defensive player, batting woes continued into last season striking out 40 times in 50 games. Bader batted below the Mendosa line in the Padres playoff series.

Tyler O’Neill improved his fielding enough to win a gold glove in 2020. However, his batting average declined below .200 during the season striking out 43 times.

Dylan Carlson made his much anticipated debut in 2020. Carlson batted just above .200 in just 6 games. Of course, Carlson is still a rookie.

The Cardinals are placing all of the chips on the table in the outfield with an infusion of youth.
