The NBA season has come to an end, and now the biggest offseason since the Big 3 came together takes center stage. The biggest free agent, maybe Carmelo Anthony, this past season may be his final season on the New York Knicks. I’ll count down his most important moments in New York.
1. Knicks win the first playoff series since 2000.
Winning will always be a player’s legacy more so than stats, the Knicks lack of consistency since acquiring Carmelo is the reason he’s looking for greener pastures. Carmelo taking the Knicks to places they had not been in a while should be his legacy with the team if he chooses to move on.
2. 2012–13 New York Knicks season
The Knicks were back as a contender in the East, known as the ‘Knicks Tape’ they finished 2nd the Eastern Conference that year with 54 wins.
- 5-0 for only the third time in the franchise’s 66 seasons
- Won division title first time since 1993-94 season
- Made playoffs the first time since 2004
