St. Louis Blues End Four-Game Losing Streak, Dominating Unbeaten Team

The St. Louis Blues ended a four-game skid a 3-1 win against Colorado Avalanche after a players-only meeting. The Blues defeated the last unbeaten team in the National Hockey League with a strong defensive effort.

The Blues held the players-only meeting Sunday before their game with the red hot Colorado Avalanche(7-1-1).

On an early power play Sunday night in St. Louis, Schenn scored just eleven minutes into the contest, Schenn shot traveled to high net just above Colorado Avalanche Goalie Phillip Grubers’ head.

The Avalanche evened the score at 1-1 before, St. Louis Blues Right Wing David Perron put the Blues on top with a second goal from center ice for a 2-1 lead, on a delayed penalty. Late in the second quarter, Vladimir Tarasenko added a third goal.

The Blues put together a sharp defensive display in the second and third periods, outplaying the Avalanche physically. The Avalanche only attempted eight shots on goal in the third period, Colorado only winning 38 percent of faceoff the entire contest.
